Our Reason …Our history …

At first, a restructuring compelled us to evaluate the situation and to make a decision.

•  An idea, a desire, the family, the family of friends who encouraged us …
•  Meetings, the selling of our house, then a fervent impulse to put together this Coffee Bar & Restaurant in Meloisey
•  Upheavals…. An entire year for plans and for putting up the document files…then on 10-11-2004 we obtained the building permit and started the construction works.
•  Bit by bit, the project was thoroughly carried out, good and bad moments altogether.
•  Luckily, we had our friends, who, once accustomed to the project, motivated and ……supported us…. oh! Friendship, praised be thy name!
•  By December 2005, two thirds of the works were completed …and the opening date was established for Mid-January 2006…
•  Holiday cottage and swimming pool+ landscaping to be finished by June 2006…

Philosophy and Logo

A convivial space, open to exchanges. A place where we feel at ease and we rejoice in inviting people. A traditional welcoming Burgundian house where clients will enjoy simplicity in a friendly atmosphere… Then, there is our intriguing logo …Set your imagination free and go deep into your soul…what is the meaning of such a logo? The boat that “rides the waves of vineyards” with its hold loaded down, its sails blowing in the wind and proudly raising the Burgundian emblem.

Could it be Burgundy that voyages?

Could it stand for family, friends, or friends arriving onboard from all horizons and finally reaching the Marie Calou' s Harbor?

Could it stand for visitors from other regions who came looking for friendship and conviviality in a place of ‘cru' exchanges, of specialties, and of know-how?

Or, friends coming from abroad to enjoy the pleasures and the tranquility offered by Marie Calou?

OR, IT COULD SIMPLY BE A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING THAT MAKES ONE COME BACK OR SHARE IT WITH OTHERS….
